WALL INSULATION

Our walls will be packed with recycled newspapers. This product, Warmcel 500, has become a popular eco-choice because it makes good use of a waste product as well as doing the primary insulation task very well.

Our walls are 300mm thick: quite a challenge to fill even for Warmcel. It is usually sprayed wet into the wall, but this may not be possible for such a thick wall and a dry process may be required.

We are using Warmcel in our walls partly because the 'I beams' that form our wall studs create slightly kinked and cornered internal spaces which need a flexible medium to be filled properly (as does the curved wall at the front of the house, shown here).
