ROOF WINDOWSOur rooflights are at the top of the house, in the study, along the north wall. They are our only northern windows and will bring a northern light into this room, providing a good light to work in. In general, it's best to minimise north-facing windows as they lose the most heat in winter. We are therefore using VELUX rooflights with the highest possible energy efficiency specification. In the summer, these rooflights will also be important for cooling the house. As they are the highest windows in the house, when open they will exhaust the warm air that rises up the building - with cool air being drawn in at the bottom of the house over our pond.
