UNDER FLOOR HEATING

Underfloor heating has become popular in recent years because it removes the constraints of radiators from living spaces. It is also a more pleasant experience: whereas radiators are actually convectors, creating swirls of rising hot air which heat you head first and your feet last, underfloor heating produces radiant heat (with a little direct conduction) that is first felt by your feet.

Heating the bit of you that needs it most is itself an eco-efficiency plus, but underfloor heating is princiaplly a good choice because it operates at lower temperatures than traditional central heating. This is particularly helpful if you have a high efficiciency condensing boiler because these only operate at their optimum if the water returning to them is reasonably cool. Underfloor heating is very well-suited to our ground source heat pump.
