KITCHEN DESIGN AND BUILD

We are both keen cooks so the ultimate eco-kitchen has always been on our list of priorities.

The kitchen is where the principal resource flow in a house takes place. We are keen to see this as a cyclic resource flow, not a transition from raw materials to waste. We want to take great care not only in sourcing and storing the resources that come into the kitchen, but also in recycling everything left over. Carefully designed storage will be matched by extensive multiple recycle bins and a compost heap.

The kitchen also features water and energy efficient appliances, low energy lighting, careful daylighting, furniture made from FSC birch and beech ply and a worktop made from Cumbrian slate.

This is all being beautifully put together by eco designer/maker Stephen Edwards.
