KITCHEN STORAGE

Kitchen storage is often a bit of a disaster. Open a cupboard in even the most elegant kitchen and a jumble of spice jars, tins, packets and bottles is likely to meet the eye. This rather devalues the many things we put in our cupboards and leads to many going to waste.

We decided to put the majority of our ingredients on display, in order to be constantly aware of the potential of the resources available to us. A bank of shallow shelves lined with Bodum jars (with sustainably sourced wooden lids) will be at the heart of the kitchen. Backed up with more substantial storage space elsewhere, this also allows us to buy ingredients in bulk (saving on packaging waste as well as cost) but still display them well.

Hopefully, our kitchen will be a creative laboratory, always full of promise.
