The new year began with a return to groundworks: after the slab, the pond.

The pond was a simple idea: a narrow band of water running the width of the back of the house, a beautiful transition between house and garden. But it proved to be a complex piece of engineering, requiring piles of its own and careful tying in to the main slab.
