3 November 2004

In November, we got back to work. We were lucky to have an unusually dry November, perfect for sustained digging, drilling and muck-shifting.

Here Steve and George admire the sheathing for the concrete piles. The foundations were piled both to protect the neighbours and the tree from us - and to protect us from the tree. As many Londoners have found out to their cost, poor foundations, a hot summer and a neighbouring tree can spell disaster.
